The journey of my faith

By Clifford Oliver

Client Clifford OAs a recipient of this tattoo art, I feel eternally linked with a sign/symbol that represents a significant time, situation, or purpose in my life. This tattoo personifies my beginning and ending, and all that is in-between. It represents not only myself and those with whom I journey in the faith, but also those who will come, by faith, to believe that there is more to life than meets the eye.

My journey, which led me to the triquetra tattoo is two-fold. First of all, the spiritual man (myself) was constantly under attack by negative spiritual forces during my employment working with severely mentally ill individuals in a negative environment. The adversary works through those who know you, and who do not know you, during unexpected times and places. And, as if directed from a screenplay, these demonic, dark and isolating spirits attack at will the weaknesses of man. This was manifest most clearly when I sought to draw closer to God. I was going through some sort of spiritual transformation, which presented with rough spots at times. Nonetheless, I spoke clearly and heard distinctly the voice of God. Sometimes it was challenging, since spiritual warfare is a reality, and smart is he/she who are able to discern this force in their lives.

During this time in my life, I also gained a curiosity for body art and body sculpting. The ability to have a visual symbol of ones life essence, purpose and being on earth appeals to me. The form of this particular tattoo, is an early symbol representing the Holy Trinity. The three equal arcs express eternity in their continuous form, indivisibility in their interweaving, and their center is a triangle. Truly, it is not about me, but He who died for me. May God’s grace be with you.
